Discovering Alpine nature with Skyway Mont Blanc

Cober srl

Every Thursday, from 13 July until the end of August, Skyway Mont Blanc in collaboration with Courmayeur Mountain Guides Society offers an exploration to discover the alpine nature of Mont Blanc. Guided by a naturalist hiking guide, the excursion starts from the intermediate station of the Pavillon, at an altitude of 2,173 metres, and crosses an Alpine area of peace and silence suspended between sky and earth, traversing the surrounding paths and crossing the Saussurea Botanical Garden, the highest in Europe, to discover the flora and fauna of Europe’s highest mountain.

“For the second consecutive year, we are a partner of the Pavillon nature hikes, providing our hiking and trekking poles for those taking part in this activity,” explains Costanza Bacchi, Cober marketing manager. “Trekking poles are an important support in the mountains, both for safety and to reduce fatigue, especially for those less used to alpine terrain and walking at high altitudes. For this collaboration, we have also created a special series of customised Cober – Skyway Mont Blanc poles for Save the Glacier, on sale exclusively at the high altitude store, to convey a message of care for the Mont Blanc glaciers, which need protection and respect”.

From 13 July, the excursion leaves every Thursday three times a day at 10:30, 13:30 and 15:30. In August, departures are at 11:00, 14:00 and 16:00. Participation is free of charge, except for five euros to be handed over to the nature hiking guide at the start of the hike, but must be booked in advance by sending an e-mail to info@montebianco.com after purchasing the cable car return ticket at www.montebianco.com
